Seenlight privacy policy

Effective 26 October 2026. This policy covers the Seenlight iOS app, the seenlight.app website and the support email addresses.

Who is responsible

Seenlight is operated by Marcos Jaen, an individual established in Spain, who is the controller for personal data described here. Contact privacy@seenlight.app or write to Calle Eustaquio Lecue 25, 33930 Langreo, Asturias, Spain, about this policy or your personal data.

Camera and photo data

Seenlight processes camera images and develops RAW photographs on your device. It does not upload your photographs to a developer-operated service. The app has no Seenlight account, advertising, tracking or third-party analytics service.

With your permission, Seenlight saves photographs and edits to Apple Photos. It reads its saved photographs to display the gallery, show details, edit, export and delete them. You can also enable a separate copy in the app’s Documents folder, accessible through Files.

Photographs can include capture time, camera settings, location and editing information. If you enable location tagging and allow location access, Seenlight adds available location and compass information to new photographs. Turn off location tagging or change the app’s location permission in iOS Settings to stop tagging future photographs. This does not remove metadata from photographs already saved.

Opening a photograph’s details can use Apple’s map and place-name services for the location in that photograph. These services can communicate with Apple. Turning off location tagging for new captures does not remove the locations in older photographs or prevent their use in the details view.

Apple Photos can synchronize your photographs through iCloud if you enable that service. Seenlight allows Photos to retrieve images and originals from iCloud when needed. Your device backup, cloud storage and sharing settings can also affect where copies are stored. Seenlight does not control those services.

Settings and imported looks

Seenlight stores camera settings, editing recipes, saved profiles, imported color lookup tables, onboarding choices, recent-photo identifiers and the daily free Bare count on your device. It shares saved profile information with its widgets through an App Group. The app and Lock Screen camera exchange capture settings, recipes, the daily count and Pro status through Apple’s camera-intent system.

These records support the app’s functions. They are not sent to a developer-operated account or analytics service.

Purchases and reminders

Apple handles Seenlight Pro purchases and payment details. Seenlight uses StoreKit purchase and renewal information on the device to determine access to Pro and to display renewal reminders. Seenlight does not receive your payment card details.

Renewal reminders use local app state. If you permit notifications, the app can schedule a local notification containing renewal information. iOS notification settings control whether that information appears outside the app, including on the Lock Screen. Seenlight does not use a developer-operated push notification service for these reminders.

When you share a photograph, iOS passes the selected file to the destination you choose. The file can contain location and other metadata. Check the file and the destination before sharing. The destination’s own privacy practices apply to the copy it receives.

Privacy, licence and acknowledgement links can open external websites. Those websites receive the requests needed to display their pages and apply their own privacy notices. This policy describes the iOS app, not the operation of those websites.

Storage and deletion

Photographs remain in Photos until you delete them there or through the app’s gallery. Photos controls its Recently Deleted and iCloud behavior. Deleting a photograph from Photos does not also delete an optional Files copy or a copy you shared elsewhere. You can clear the app’s Files copies in its storage settings without deleting the Photos originals.

Imported looks remain in the app’s storage until removed. Preferences and related local records persist between launches. Removing the app is not a way to delete photographs already saved in Photos, copies held by other services, or Apple purchase records. Device backups may retain app data according to your backup settings.

The app creates temporary files while developing and sharing photographs. It attempts to remove development files after use and clears gallery export files when the gallery next opens. A failed cleanup or an interrupted session can leave temporary files behind. Lock Screen captures can remain in temporary session storage until the main app imports them.

This website

seenlight.app is served through Cloudflare, which processes your IP address and request details, such as the page, browser and time, to deliver pages and protect the service. The site sets no cookies and uses no analytics, advertising or third-party embeds. Cloudflare can process this data outside the European Economic Area under the safeguards it offers for international transfers. This processing relies on the operator’s legitimate interest in running a secure website.

Diagnostics

The app writes some operational errors to Apple’s system logging facilities. It does not include a third-party crash-reporting SDK or send its own diagnostic feed to a developer server. Apple may provide crash reports according to your device’s analytics-sharing settings.

Voluntary support correspondence

If you email support@seenlight.app or privacy@seenlight.app, the operator receives your contact details, the contents of your message and any attachments you choose to send. A photograph or screenshot can reveal people, location or other personal information. Send only what is needed to explain the problem, and do not send passwords, payment card details or identity documents.

Correspondence is used to answer your request, investigate the reported problem and meet applicable legal duties. Purchase-related support may be necessary to perform the purchase agreement. General support and fault investigation rely on the operator’s legitimate interest in maintaining the app and answering requests. Handling a statutory privacy request may be necessary to meet a legal obligation.

Cloudflare Email Routing receives messages sent to these addresses and forwards them to the operator’s mailbox, hosted by Purelymail. Both providers can process messages outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States, under the safeguards they offer for international transfers. Access is limited to the operator and people specifically authorized to resolve the request, not for advertising or sale. AI tools and coding agents are not given support messages or attachments.

Correspondence is kept only while needed to resolve the request and any related dispute or legal duty. Unneeded attachments are removed when the investigation ends. Provider trash and backup copies can persist for a limited time after deletion from the active mailbox.

TestFlight beta feedback and crash reports

If Seenlight is offered through TestFlight and you participate, Apple can provide the operator with beta feedback, screenshots, crash logs, usage information and technical information about the app version, device and operating system. This can include your name and email address. Joining through a public link does not by itself reveal your name or email to the operator, but you can choose to include an email in feedback. Comments and screenshots can reveal other personal information. Apple also receives feedback submitted through TestFlight and can associate it with your Apple Account. Apple’s TestFlight privacy information describes its own handling.

The operator uses this information only to improve the app, including investigating reported faults and responding about those faults. This relies on the operator’s legitimate interest in testing and maintaining the app. Written feedback and screenshots are voluntary; TestFlight also provides diagnostic and usage information as part of beta testing. Do not include personal photographs or other sensitive material unless necessary to report the issue.

Access is limited to people who need the information to improve the app. Apple’s TestFlight rules do not permit sharing it with third parties. Reports are not published with personal details or given to AI tools or coding agents. Identifiable reports are not downloaded when an anonymous description is sufficient, and operator-held copies are removed when they are no longer needed for the investigation or a related legal duty.

Apple controls the records retained in its TestFlight systems. Deleting an operator-held copy does not erase Apple’s records. You may contact the operator about operator-held feedback and use Apple’s privacy channels for information held by Apple.

Your choices and rights

You control camera, Photos, location and notification permissions in iOS Settings. Refusing a permission prevents the related function, not unrelated processing. The operator has no remote access to your on-device photo library or app settings.

For personal data the operator holds, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability where applicable, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. Contact the operator using the details above. You may complain to the Spanish data protection authority, the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos, or another competent supervisory authority.

Changes

Each revision states its effective date at the top of this page. Changes to data handling will be reflected in this policy before the changed handling begins.
